Meetings

The Institute holds six meetings a year, usually on the third Saturday of the month, in January, March, May, July, September and November.  There is a charge of £5 for members and £10 for guests for physical meetings to cover the cost of the speaker, venue and refreshments (usually tea, coffee and homemade cake). Some field meetings may have additional costs such as an admission charge or expert guide. We now try to hold two or three meetings on Zoom for members who cannot or who prefer not to travel, currently there is no extra charge for Zoom meetings.

Most meetings take the form of workshops on a topic with an invited speaker.

One or two meetings a year are held in the field. Meetings are held at a variety of locations and in 2024 we are meeting in Norolk, Gloucestershire and Dorset.

The AGM is held in January each year. This is usually followed by a talk or a quiz on a Botanical subject. In 2024 our speaker is Claire Ward who is giving a talk on Painting Fungi.
