September 18th and 19th 2021 Field meeting
Saturday 18th September Meet at 10.30am Erasmus Darwin House in Lichfield. https://www.erasmusdarwin.org
This was the home of Charles Darwin’s grandfather and is now a museum. There will be a tour of the house and herb garden, plus other tours, a buffet lunch and tea/coffee breaks included. It anticipated that this visit will last most of the day, but there should also be time to have a look around Lichfield. The cost of the day, for the tours, lunch and refreshments will be £25 per person.
You may wish to stay in the area Friday/Saturday night, and I would advise you to book your accommodation as soon as possible to avoid disappointment remembering to check the cancellation policy because of Covid restrictions on the visits.
Sunday 19th September Museum of Cannock Chase.
Meet at 10.30am. http://www.museumofcannockchase.org Museum tour then a one hour talk on heathland plants followed by a one and half hour guided walk in Hednesford Hills. This should finish at about 1-1.30pm and you can then head home. The cost of the morning will be £10.
